I Threw a Tantrum.....

For some reason....we seem to get plenty-o-door to door salesmen here in SE PDX. Irritates the hell out of me. We finally had had enough. So we bought a lovely little sign for our front door. Something along the lines of "NO SOLICITING"!! In bright red, and can pretty well be read from the street. And even if you can't read it, the message is usually pretty damn clear. Apparently, not today. This young gentleman rang the door, informed me that he wasn't trying to sell me anything he was trying to give me an updated, wireless alarm panel. Whatever.....I was annoyed but also right in the middle of cooking dinner (which is probably why we got the damn sign anyway, it's always during dinner!). So I basically told him I knew nothing about the alarm (yeah right!) and he would have to talk to my hubby later. I know, I know, I should have just told him to go away and never come back but I was unsure. Basically, hubby nixed the whole idea (fine with me!) and kept pointing to the sign when the guy came back. And in the end we were both annoyed that the guy even came at all. So in my fit of irritation..... I produced this...

wonder what other information I could get out of a sales person? ;)

Arg! That same guy (well, a guy from that same company...) came to our house 2 weeks ago and I clearly told him I was NOT interested (he didn't even seem to care that we already have an alarm system). Then when Andrew was home last week I came upstairs to find him talking to this same guy! Andrew sucks at telling people NO and closing the door in their faces so I took matters into my own hands and asked this guy what the hell he was doing back... I had just told him no a week ago. He said that's why he was back--to see if he could change our minds!

It just irritates me to no end... as you can probably tell from the above rant. :)

Hilarious! Can you print me a copy for my door?

I like that approach. The entrance to our condo is the inside of a hallway of a locked building and while there have been cases of folks sneaking in behind residents, we have yet to receive a door-to-door salesperson. [insert knock on wood here]

We did, however, get a knock from the census taker a few years ago and, most recently, someone checking to make sure we had received our ballot.
