Happy Birthday Grandma Wade!!!!!!!!!!!

Today Grandma turns 90!!!!!!!!! I simply can't imagine living to such an age and to live such a life. She always has colorful stories to tell and has lived quite a life.

The pics of grandma with Matthew as a baby are some of my favorite, mainly because Matthew was quite a hefty baby at that point in his life and made grandma look even tinier than she is! The other pic is from this year at Mason's birthday party. The sepia colored pics are from this spring.

The kids are excited to go over and celebrate her birthday...but then again I think they are excited to celebrate anyone's birthday since it means cake/ice cream and more playmates! And quite frankly I don't think they get the idea of "90" years. But that's ok for now. The point is she is still here to celebrate with and we will celebrate! I realize every day we have her is a blessing so here's to you grandma!! Love You!!!

Hemlock Lake

Nothing like a day at the lake!!!!!!!!! Actually this is our annual family picnic which we have been doing for the last several years up at Hemlock Lake. We also used to go up there when I was a child so I do have fond (and cold swimming!) childhood memories!

This particular saturday it was very warm up there ....and by up there I mean this little lake is up in Washington, several miles outside of Carson. The kids love it since it's fairly small but large enough for them to go down to the lake and not feel watched over....although the little ones are still small enough to need constant supervision. It's just small and quiet until more people and all our kids arrive. I love it up there!!!!!!!!! and then to top off the fun there is always tons of good food cooked by grandmas and moms and even grandpas!!! (thanks dad!!) Even though we aren't a particularly large family it's still fun to get together and catch up with each other in all our busy lives....

on a completely unrelated subject......It's almost September and I am cheering!!!!!!!!!! Not only is school about to start (always a good thing as just about any mom will agree) but even better that means it's time for fall season t.v. !!! YEAH!!! I can't wait for Lost to return (which I believe isn't actually till October) but it's also time for "House" , "The Office", "Grey's Anatomy" (only just started watching that this summer..but so good), and "Numb3rs". I'm sure I'm missing a few but those are the ones on my mind at the moment and I can't wait. :) Long live the TiVo/DVR....it's so my friend!

Someday I will have to pay them to do this.....

Nothing like summer fun with daddy and the hose for my boys!! My boys love to wash the car! And they actually don't fight over the hose too much which is quite a shock. If I had a scanner (which is on my "I need very soon" list) I would download a photo of me and my brother doing the same thing at about the same age although I distinctly remember fighting with him over the hose! Anyway....hopefully someday soon I will get the scanner and in the meantime it's still summer and my boys are still enjoying any excuse to play in the water!!

A Day at Timothy Lake

Last Saturday we spent the day up at Timothy Lake with Andy's family. It was beautiful up there and the weather was perfect!!! (OK maybe a little warm for me but I am the minority) The kids had a really good time too! Mason spent some time with Reagan and I think they could match each other pretty well when it came to mischief.

Matthew spent almost all his time with Lauren and enjoyed himself so much that he was willing after all to stay the night there with Grandma Leslee and Grandpa Chuck. They spent a lot of time in the sandpit and by the end of Saturday Lauren and Matthew (and Mason) were covered in sand.

Everyone had a great time...........lots of food, drinks, games, conversation......it was all good!! :) Of course we never took a single picture of the lake but oh well. There is always next year ......

Mason is at it again!!!

Yep...this would be the work of Mason! The other morning we were at Trader Joe's and bought milk/eggs etc. and by that evening Mason had gotten into the fridge and managed to break 11 of the 12 eggs. And I got to go to the store again that evening so I could get more eggs. He also got into my coffee creamer and decided to finish that off. It's amazing he didn't get sick from all of the sugar in the creamer.

Tonight Mason got me all to himself since Matthew went with Andy to go see Grandma Leslee. As soon as Matthew left, Mason made a bee line for Matthew's toy kitties and had a blast with them. He danced around the house for awhile with them and after a short time I noticed he was very quiet. I went to peek on him and the kitties were obviously hungry! (boy how could I have not known that??) :)

More Pics...(because I can)

Just a few more pictures to add ...these were taken on the 4th of July while we were doing fireworks for the kids. Of course they had a blast! (all of the kids...even the "big" kids!)

All this with no help from my husband!!

So I have decided to start this blog partly to actually see if I could do it and partly to have an easy way to show everyone pictures/thoughts/etc. that I feel like showing! So I will see how this goes and if I enjoy this "blogging" thing. I am certainly not the "computer geek" in this family but you never know....I may become a nerd yet!

And just for fun...this is a picture of Matthew and his bike that he got for his birthday. It was the first day of riding it and though it was a bit nerve racking for me to watch, he has started to get the hang of bike riding. It could be awhile before he manages without training wheels but that is what next summer is for!
